At YEP Academy, working with us means more than just taking on a role. We see collaboration as a shared journey based on trust, responsibility, creativity, and a firm belief in the power of learning through nature.
We are not a conventional outdoor organisation with fixed job profiles and rigid structures. Instead, we primarily work with facilitators, trainers, guides, and other practitioners on a flexible, freelance basis. What sets us apart is the kind of space we aim to offer: greater freedom in design, greater agility in practice, and more room for ownership and initiative.
We are interested in people who can contribute to existing programmes, as well as those who want to co-create, shape, and implement new learning formats with us. These could include training sessions, camps, expeditions, retreats, youth programmes, outdoor educational activities, or locally rooted initiatives that align with the YEP Academy spirit.
A strong fit with YEP Academy starts with values and mindset. We look for people who resonate with experiential learning, nature-based education, adventure challenges, participant-centred facilitation, youth empowerment, and responsible outdoor practice.
There are two main pathways to working with us.
The YEP pathway: Ideally, collaborators have completed one of YEP Academy's Intensive Journeys, such as Outdoor Facilitation or Trekking Guide.
The equivalent experience pathway.
Some collaborators join selected programmes as freelance facilitators, trainers, or guides, supporting the delivery of existing YEP Academy trainings, camps, and outdoor learning journeys. Others take on stronger leadership roles in the design and facilitation of specific modules or programme components.
Even where collaboration is flexible, it is not without structure. Those working with YEP Academy should be willing to adhere to shared standards regarding conduct, quality, safety, communication, and the academy's overall identity.
